Why one source matters#
A shop usually shows its hours and address in several places. There is the sign on the door, the entry on a map app, the website and sometimes a printed card. Each of these can drift out of date on its own. When the hours change on one of them and not the others, a customer may arrive at a closed door or walk past a shop that is open.
The simplest fix is to decide that one place holds the true version and that every other place is checked against it. It helps to think of the set of listings as one piece of information that appears in several spots, rather than as several separate jobs. That mindset makes the rest of the work much easier to keep straight.
What the site shows#
The DISPO site shows the opening hours for each shop. It also shows whether the shop is open right now, so a visitor does not have to work out the day and time for themselves. An owner can read the page and see the hours a customer would see.
Because the hours appear in one structured place, changing them means changing them once. The listed hours and the open-now display then reflect that single change. This is much less error-prone than editing a sentence in several locations by hand, and it gives the owner one place to check when something seems wrong.
When you have several branches#
A shop with more than one branch gets one page for each branch. Each page carries that branch's own hours and address, so a visitor looking up one location is not shown details for another. A map sits alongside the pages, with a pin for each branch placed at its location.
Separate pages keep each branch's information distinct and easy to update on its own. When a single branch changes its hours for a holiday or a refit, only that branch's page needs to change. The map pins and the branch pages then describe the same locations, so the picture a visitor forms from the map matches what they read on the page.
Keeping it accurate over time#
A single source of truth only helps if someone keeps it current. Owners should set a routine, such as reviewing the hours at the start of each month and whenever a holiday approaches. Each time, they should compare the website, the map listing and the door sign against one another. Any difference should be fixed in the source and then carried to the other places.
Thai rules limit how cannabis may be advertised, so check your plans with a lawyer. This post does not cover what content is allowed, and an owner should check with a lawyer before publishing anything beyond plain hours and an address.
