What a static site is#
A static site is a set of ready-made web pages. Each page is stored as a file, and the server sends that file to the visitor as it is. Nothing has to be assembled on each visit, and no database has to run in the background. This keeps a static site simple to manage and light on resources.
For a shop owner, the practical result is that the site is easy to keep up to date. It shows your name, your opening hours, your location and a few pages about what you offer. Changing a page means changing a file and publishing it again. A static site does not need a complicated system behind it, which is why its hosting can be free in some cases.
How Cloudflare Pages fits in#
Cloudflare Pages is a service that hosts static sites. You give it the files for your site, and it serves them to visitors. Cloudflare Pages has no hosting fees for static sites, and this is why a DISPO preview stays free at its preview address.
A DISPO preview lives at its own address, and it stays free there. If you decide you want the site on a domain of your own, you can move it. The site itself does not change because of the move. The preview address is a starting point, and the choice of a permanent address is yours.
What free does not cover#
Free hosting covers serving the site's files. It is not the whole cost of running a business online, and it does not decide what your site says. Your choices about content remain your own, and they should be checked before you publish. Thai rules limit how cannabis may be advertised, so check your plans with a lawyer.
Before you publish any text, images or claims, read them carefully and check them against those rules. DISPO explains how the site is built. It does not give legal advice about what the site may contain, and it is for you to decide what the site says.
Deciding your next steps#
Start with the preview. Look at it on your phone and on a computer, and read every line as a customer would. Ask whether the information is accurate and whether anything could be read in a way that breaks the rules. Take your time with this step, because the content matters more than where the site is hosted.
When you are satisfied with the site and its content, you can decide whether to keep it at the preview address or move it to a domain of your own. Both choices are open to you, and the hosting itself carries no fee for this kind of site. Make the decision that fits how your shop works and what you are comfortable publishing.
